Was excited to see Stage 1 of Tour de France had started today! What's the story on it being "exclusive to Peacock"? Meaning I'm not going to be able to watch later stages without purchasing yet another subscription?
@CurtisLBray >>welcome to the brave new world of live sports. Working for the local RSN, our world is changing and the landscape around is more fractured than ever.
@brettjungbluth No joke. I just wish Root Sports would jump on YouTube TV in a RSN package or something. I tried out FuboTV this year, but couldn't make the jump.
@CurtisLBray @brettjungbluth I feel this. Stopped following the trailblazers when I couldn’t afford the cable package and never went back.
@CurtisLBray >> I wish YouTubeTV would pick us up also.
FYI the Tour is on free-to-air TV in the UK (ITV4) so if you have a VPN you can watch every stage in full through their streaming page (ITVX). You'll need to sign up for a free account & probably "borrow" some UK address but after that you're all good.
(Also the ITV commentator Ned Boulting is the best in the business)
@bazpoint Thanks for the tip!
@CurtisLBray I’ve got my DVR set to “Record Series” and I see recordings set for the later “exclusive” stages so I’m not sure what that is about. (I do not subscribe to peacock).
@Dave3307 I just checked my YouTube TV recordings and saw the same. Whew. Maybe this was just a marketing stunt to push people to Peacock.
@CurtisLBray Might be the broadcast is the second string and Peacock will have Bob & Phil ?
@Dave3307 That's certainly possible.
