i haven't been in the u.s. for 15+ years - and as far as i can recall, never in a costco - i did not realize that i was missing out on the essential aspects of american culture

Costco is a big deal here. It's actually a pretty decent business. They pay workers well, so they have checkers who have worked there for decades. The prices are great, it's the only place to stock up on staples. Small businesses are one of their biggest customers
