Ça intéresse quelqu’un un an de Super #Duolingo pour 20 € ? J’ai de la place dans la « famille »
Been a while since I've found my #Duolingo lessons so personally relevant.
First time seeing this version of the #Duolingo widget and I absolutely love it they are doing such a great job with those illustrations.
I’m trying to teach my cats French and so far they are Not Having It.
I’m thinking about learning French for fun, and for vacations in Canada. I hear my girlfriend doing Duolingo (in German) next to me all the time. How is it?
Also, it sounds like it’s free and too good to be true. What’s the catch? Mandatory tracking, data mining and sales, forced advertising, or a freemium tier to do anything useful? If so, are there any platforms that are more privacy-respecting? (FOSS preferred.)
Yes, I’m sure I can get a paper book at the library and do okay, but I study better with something interactive.
365 day streak!
French, Mandarin, and Spanish
I do enjoy the review for French and Mandarin. I like learning Spanish. I need to get back to language and conversation classes to see improvement tho.
bleh. my #duolingo league this week is more type-a than my previous ones and i have to actually work harder to stay within the promotion zone this time.
fuckers.
The overnight tornadoes are gone, but it’s been a windy, windy day in north Texas! I’ve been home focused on a bunch of work projects. But now it’s time to switch attention. It won’t be to the speech to Congress, however. Instead, I’m going to inch forward on #Duolingo.
I hit another big milestone on Duolingo!! I’ve linked up with a few folks from the Fediverse and we’re helping each other achieve our goals. If you want some support getting into the habit, follow me and let’s do it together
#Duolingo has started doing this thing where, unannounced, the character Lily seems to be trying to video call you, and
Fuck
Away
Off
With
That
Shit
Thank you very much.
I think gamification can have real value for teaching and learning, but there is always the risk that it becomes more about the “game” than the learning.
I just cancelled my Super Duolingo subscription and let my 759 day streak end. Not because I’m abandoning my learning but because I had noticed that I had stopped really learning in the interest of maintaining my streak and other gamification perks. I was avoiding difficult “assignments”, rushing through lessons, etc… I am still doing a daily practice but I keep track myself and focus on doing a good job, not earning whatever perk is being offered up.
Guys, I don't think the Duolingo bird is ok.
