1: Parent pulls dish out
2: Firstborn takes dish on a little walk
3: Parent puts the dish away
@Possiblydrew Our second used to love taking dishes out of the dishwasher as well, when she was around 18 months. I would be loading the dirty dishes into the dishwasher, and she would be pulling them out at the same time. 
(She still likes to unload the dishwasher, but at least now she only does it when they're clean.)
